Did Ya know is back!

Are you ready?

1.) In the original Peter Pan book, he killed the lost boys when they got to old.

Peter Pan doesn’t seem so fun now..

2.)All the Disney princesses are thought to be teenagers.

Snow White- 14 years old

Cinderella- 16-19 years old

Aurora- 16 years old

Ariel- 16 years old

Belle- 17 years old

Mulan- 16 years old

Jasmine – almost 18 years old

Pocahontas- 17 years old

Tiana- 19 years old

Rapunzel -18 years old

Forget love and grand adventures my dad would have dragged me back to the house!

3.) The original Scooby-doo series is set after a horrible economic depression. Everything is abandoned and falling apart, and all of the villains are people who would normally be respected ( Professors, museum curators, celebrities) who have fallen into hard times just like everyone else.

The history behind things is mind-blowing!

4.)The little mermaid has had over one million hand drown bubbles

Talk about a hand cramp.

5.) Elsa was originally the villain but, after hearing the song Let it Go Disney changed the plot.

I’m Glad they did! However, I’m curious as to what the first plot was now…

As some of you may have noticed I’ve been a bit remiss in posting.
Life caught up to me and I got distracted.

So get ready for double the fun today! Instead of five facts you’ll get ten!

1.) According to a British law passed in 1845, attempting to commit suicide was a capital offense. Offenders could be hanged for trying

I don’t really see how this helps matters…

2.) Almonds are a member of the peach family.

What are they? Like 2nd cousins?

3.) America once issued a 5-cent bill.

where is it now?

4.)America’s first nudist organization was founded in 1929, by 3 men

I should have know this was male organized!

5.) Ancient Egyptians slept on pillows made of stone

sounds comfy…

6.)Back in the mid to late 1980’s, an IBM-compatible computer wasn’t considered a hundred percent compatible unless it could run Microsoft’s Flight Simulator.

Standards seemed to have changed.

7.)Bank robber John Dillinger played professional baseball.

talk about a home run!

8.)”Dreamt” is the only English word that ends in the letters “mt.”

mmmm…Well I can’t think of any.

9.)Hershey’s Kisses are called that because the machine that makes them looks like it’s kissing the conveyor belt.

I always wondered.

10.)Gilligan of Gilligan’s Island had a first name that was only used once, on the never-aired pilot show. His first name was Willy. The skipper’s real name on Gilligan’s Island is Jonas Grumby. It was mentioned once in the first episode on their radio’s newscast about the wreck.

Wait until I tell my dad! He loves this show.

2.)7% of Americans don’t know the first 9 words of the American anthem, but know the first 7 of the Canadian anthem.
Well, Alrighty then! I believe These two might need to swap places

3.)85,000,000 tons of paper are used each year in the U.S.
It is because of all those papers we are required to write.

4.)A “jiffy” is an actual unit of time for 1/100th of a second.
I’ll be there in a jiffy. I may start using this.

5.)A mole can dig a tunnel 300 feet long in just one night.
Nothing better to do might as well dig.

So useless knowledge Thursday is getting a new name!

Did Ya know?

New name, but same ideas.

1.) 12 newborns will be given to the wrong parents daily.

Gasp! This is no good at all…

2.)101 Dalmatians and Peter Pan (Wendy) are the only two Disney cartoon features with both parents that are present and don’t die throughout the movie.

Family features?

3.)Windmills always turn counter-clockwise. Except for the windmills in Ireland.

Those windmills are special.

4.)The word “Checkmate” in chess comes from the Persian phrase “Shah Mat,” which means “the king is dead”.

Well…you do knock the piece over.

5.)The term “the whole 9 yards” came from WWII fighter pilots in the South Pacific. When arming their airplanes on the ground, the .50 caliber machine gun ammo belts measured exactly 27 feet, before being loaded into the fuselage. If the pilots fired all their ammo at a target, it got “the whole 9 yards.”

I always wondered.

Well…Hello Thursday! You snuck up on me today.

1.) If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days, you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee.

That would be a long time to wait for a cup of coffee…

2.) Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour.

And as a plus you get this really awesome concussion!

3.) The average person falls asleep in seven minutes.

I wish I could time this some how but, I feel like I would fall asleep before I could check…

4.) Elephants are the only mammals that can’t jump.

Seriously… would you really want them to?

5.) More people are killed annually by donkeys than die in air crashes.
