Putting together a puzzle can be relaxing or for some nerve wrecking.
After you’ve picked your puzzle you can only imagine how great this is going to be once you’ve got it all put together.
This puzzle could range anywhere between easy to difficult. This puzzle could easily have 50-1000 pieces; for those who love a challenge maybe they will have a puzzle that exceed this amount.
You’ll dump all the pieces out on a flat surface, maybe even turn all the pieces over. You might even set the box up so that you can see the picture from where you are working.
Everyone puts together their puzzle differently.
Some start with the edges and some just dive into their puzzle.
This puzzle might take you an hour or two or maybe even three months. No matter how long it takes you’ll continue until this project is finished.
Oh, and we all know the frustration that happens when we find out that one piece is missing. You’ll search everywhere for this missing puzzle piece. Under the table, in your pockets, under the chair, in the cushions and even in places that there is no way that puzzle could have gone.
But, what if you only had one puzzle piece.
No box, no 999 other puzzle pieces just the one puzzle piece.
What can you possible do with just one puzzle piece?
There is no way you could possible even imagine what the picture might be so, you sit it on your puzzle table and you don’t think about it.
You go one with life.
Then one day you walk past your puzzle table and notice that there is another puzzle piece. Now you have two and they connect together.
Slowly over time you get puzzle pieces and they start to for a picture.
This is like our walk with God.
Slowly over time he hands us puzzle pieces. Slowly revealing to us our purpose in this live. They plans he has for our lives.
He is the only one who knows what the bigger picture looks like.
As we grow in our faith and grow closer to God the puzzle forms a clearer picture.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding- Proverbs3:5
If we didn’t put our trust in God it would be like we were trying to make our own puzzle.
I remember trying to make my own puzzle as a kid. They never turned out exactly like I wanted them to. They were messy and the pieces never fit together just like I wanted them to.
Mostly this was because I rushed through the project.
God won’t rush us.
He’ll only give us another puzzle piece when we are ready.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.-Jeremiah 29:11
We can place our trust in God because in simple plan language He’s got our back!
Can you imagine what our puzzles will look like one day if we trust that God can take care of us?
It will be unbelievable!
If you get restless don’t forget that God is still helping you to put together the puzzle of your life.
You’re not done!
He won’t give up on you!
If so, then open your heart, your mind and your hands!
